This holiday is celebrated in the day of Christian Catholic apostle St. Amand bishop Maastryhtskyi (584-679), who lived in VII century AD on the territory of present France, apostle Amand evangelized viniculture regions of France, German and Flanders.

Saint is considered as the father of wine makers, brewers, restaurateurs, bartenders and all workers of this sphere. This professional holiday is celebrated on 6 February every year in many countries of the world, Ukraine is not an exception, here the holiday has already acquired vogue.
