International Translator`s Day it’s a professional holiday of interpreters and translators , is celebrated on 30 of September, the date was chosen is not by chance, because on this day 30 September, 420 had died St. Jerome (the patron of translators), one of the four Latin Church Fathers, writer, historian, translator, which for long years had been translating the Bible - Old and New Testaments in Latin.

Eleven centuries later, his version was declared as the official Latin text of the Holy Bible (Vulgate) by the Council of Trent. In addition, it is supposed that Jerome originated Glagolitic script. This celebration of the International Federation of Translators approved only in 1991, but its popularity is growing with every year.
